0SHARESShareTweetLori Renee Weakland Obituary, Death – On Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her residence in New Castle, Lori Renee Weakland, age 44, who resided on E. Sheridan Avenue, passed away. She was born on November 15, 1978, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and is the daughter of the late Donald J. Weakland, Jr. and Sally L. (Wagner) Weakland. Her mother is still alive and resides in New Castle. Lori worked as a bartender in Littleton, Colorado, for a total of sixteen years.
After that, she spent three years in the Human Resources department of the Pennsylvania Farmers of American in New Wilmington. She had a degree in Environmental Sciences and Human Resources from Penn State University, where she also received her undergraduate education. She was actively involved in the community through her work as a volunteer for the Lawrence County Humane Society.
Flower planting, hiking—especially in Colorado—was one of Lori’s favorite hobbies, and she cherished the time she spent with her dog, Lucy. She was a person who was very outgoing and social, as well as incredibly kind, and she made it a point to perform at least one act of random kindness for anyone every day. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Lynn A. O’Connor and her husband Bill of Aurora, Colorado, and one niece, Maelena G. O’Connor. Her mother is the only member of her family who predeceased her.
Visitation will be held at the Hastings Methodist Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 12 PM to 2 PM. The church’s address is 162 4th Avenue, Hastings, PA 16646. A funeral service is scheduled to take place at 2:00 PM. Pastor Ashley Wyatt will preside over the ceremony. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, which can be found at 628 Pearson Mill Road in New Castle, Pennsylvania 16101. Funeral services were provided by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, which is located at 926 Cunningham Avenue.
